Eindhoven Cup: Hannah Miley Doubles, Lia Dekker Breaks Longstanding National Record

EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, December 6. HANNAH Miley of Great Britain enjoyed a double victory during the second night of swimming at the Eindhoven Cup held in The Netherlands. Meanwhile, local swimmer Lia Dekker took down a 1988 record in the women's 200 breast.

Arjen van der Meulen touched out Allen Lindeberg, 52.15 to 52.20, for the victory in the men's 100 free to start the second night. Rutger van Oosterhout took third in 52.28. Clarissa van Rheenen then picked up the women's 100 free in 56.08 with Annelies De Mare taking second in 56.94.

Bram Dekker followed with a winning time of 2:06.31 in the men's 200 IM, while Miley dominated the women's 200 IM with a time of 2:12.59.

Nick Driebergen left no doubt in the men's 200 back with a top time of 2:00.48, as Israel's Ehud Segal finished second in 2:05.81, while Wendy van den Zanden had a closer triumph over Kimberley Buys, 2:14.59 to 2:16.52, in the women's 200 back.

Lennart Stekelenburg grabbed the men's 200 breast title in 2:14.89, while Miley came back with another winning time of 2:29.41 in the women's 200 breast. Dekker took second in 2:30.09 to break the national record of 2:30.83 set by Linda Moes back in 1988.

Bastiaan Tamminga followed with a 23.87 to 23.92 triumph over Robin van Aggele in the men's 50 fly, while Marleen Veldhuis notched a swift time of 25.94 to win the women's 50 fly.

In the distance event, Hans Peter Hartog claimed the men's 1500 free title in 16:54.47 with Bastiaan Waanders taking second in 17:49.17.
