USA Swimming Grand Prix, Minnesota: Mary DeScenza Perfect

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, November 16. MARY DeScenza of Athens Bulldog took two more titles at the USA Swimming Grand Prix held in Minnesota to complete a perfect run at the meet.

First, she cruised in the women's 200-yard back with a time of 1:56.83, while also winning the 200 fly in 1:57.06. In the corresponding men's events, Ian Clark of Suburban won the 200 back in 1:45.39 with Ryan Lochte scratching finals competition. Additionally, Nadav Kochavi captured the 200 fly in 1:46.12.

In distance free swimming, Chloe Sutton of Mission Viejo beat friend and rival Kirsten Groome of First Colony, 16:07.18 to 16:08.24, in the women's 1650-yard free while Minnesota's Mike Holmes touched out Kirsten's brother Eegan, 15:24.02 to 15:24.14.

In the sprint free event of the night, Minnesota's Stacy Busack won the 100 free in 50.33 with California's William Copeland touching first among the men with a 42.42.

Minnesota completed a relay sweep of the meet as Alison Eggers, Busack, Meagan Radecke and Yuen Kobayashi won the women's 400 free relay in 3:25.51 and Zach Bolin, Ray Betuzzi, Curt Carlson and Mark Solfelt grabbed the men's 400 free relay title in 3:01.18.
