Six-Star Standout Spindrift Beck Selects College Destination -- October 29, 2008

I'm really happy about the program Kim Brackin and Jim Henry continue to form.
DALLAS, Texas, October 29. SHE's been diligent in her collegiate recruiting process, but Swimming World six-star standout Spindrift Beck has chosen her destination for the next four years.

Beck, who swims for the Dallas Mustangs and preps at The Hockaday School, will staying close to home as she is headed to Austin for the University of Texas with Kim Brackin. Beck is an immediate impact player as she already has times that would have put her in the A final at the NCAA Division I Championships this year. She boasts top times in the 100-yard breast (1:00.66) and 200-yard breast (2:10.51).

"I made the decision to commit to the University of Texas today," Beck told Swimming World. "I'm really happy about the program Kim Brackin and Jim Henry continue to form, and I absolutely love the girls on the team, so I'm very excited about the next 4 years."

Beck, who was previously featured by Swimming World in its College Recruit Rankings Profile series and a guest on The Morning Swim Show, joins five-star Jessica Guro in the Class of 2009 for the Lady Longhorns.
