University of Tennessee: New American, NCAA, and US Open Record -- February 21, 1997

University of Tennessee broke their own record in the 200 yard medley relay at the SEC Championships. Craig Gilliam led off with a 21.37 in the backstroke, then Jeremy Linn followed with a 23.55 in the breaststroke. Jeff Elder and Adam Engle held off Auburn and Georgia.

The Vols raced to a 1:25.76, bettering their record of 1:25.86 set last year.
