Australian Grand Prix, Canberra: Flash! Libby Trickett Breaks World Record in 100 SCM Fly -- April 25, 2008

CANBERRA, Australia, April 25. AT the Australian Grand Prix held in Canberra, Libby Trickett took down another world record, this time in the women's 100 butterfly over the short course.

Trickett clocked a time of 55.74 to break the short-lived record of teammate Felicity Galvez. Galvez set the standard with a time of 55.89 while at the World Short Course Championships just two weeks ago.

Trickett: 26.11, 55.74 (29.63)
Galvez: 26.08, 55.89 (29.81)

While Galvez went out faster, Trickett had way more back-end speed. Trickett finished ahead of Shayne Reese (59.23) and Alice Mills (59.25).
