Flash! The Morning Swim Show Debuts

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 19. AT 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, Swimming World Magazine made history by launching the first weekday aquatic news show, called The Morning Swim Show, dedicated to aquatics news and features.

Initial reports indicated that the show is off to a good start with worldwide viewers downloading the show every 20 seconds.

The show only appears on the website Monday through Friday. For those who would like to revisit either the Thursday or Friday show from last week, click one of the following links:

The Morning Swim Show is 10-minute show brings breaking interviews through special segments designed to cover a variety of aquatic topics leading up to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, and beyond.

For instance… From the Ready Room is a Monday feature where we bring you in-depth interviews with those who have impacted aquatic sports. Our first show will feature Misty Hyman.

The remainder of the week, each show begins with news Off the SwimInfo Wire and followed by Reaction Time.

Off the SwimInfo Wire features the latest headlines from events around the world. Reaction Time goes into more detail or discussion about those events.

On Tuesdays, Reaction Time is followed by either Tech Training or Split Time.

Tech Training feature tips on training from aquatic experts. Split Time is a 45-second point/counterpoint by two people with opposing views on a hot topic.

On Wednesdays, we feature For the Record.

For the Record features segments from the International Swimming Hall of Fame where we learn about the rich history of aquatics. On some days, we will move from the Hall of Fame to exclusive interviews with athletes who are breaking records and making history now.

On Thursdays, we go Inside Swimming World Magazine. In this weekly segment, we share with our viewers exclusive content that can only be found Inside Swimming World Magazine. Stories that predict NCAA champions, preview Olympic races, announce Swimmers of the Year, and much more will be featured.

On Fridays, after the news elements, we offer two more segments – Backwash and Meet Flyer.

Backwash will be a fun segment where we bring you mail and comments from our viewers, while Meet Flyer is more informative with discussion on important events that will be held that weekend.
