Passages: Former USA Water Polo Trainer Dan Bailey, 60 -- November 19, 2007

LONG BEACH, California, November 19. OVER the weekend, longtime USA Water Polo trainer Dan Bailey passed away due to "complications from knee surgery" that caused a heart attack, according to Long Beach State Athletics.

Bailey, who recently retired from Long Beach State after a 36-year stint with the 49ers, served as the head trainer for USA men's water polo in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics as well as the 2006 World Championships. He first started working with USA Water Polo in 1982, and helped with the 1984 Olympics.
