New Club to Start Next Month in Arizona -- August 31, 2007

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, August 31. FORMER Scottsdale Aquatic Club (SAC) head coach Jerry Olszewski and assistant coach Temujin Gold have formed a new club in Scottsdale, Ariz., called the La Camarilla Swim Club Spartans.

In 2002, Jerry Olszewski took over the reins at SAC, as reported here, producing national-level swimmers after coming from King Aquatics in Washington where he had similar results.

The new club will be training at La Camarilla Tennis, Fitness and Swim Club. The club offers on-site physical therapy, trainers, state-of-the-art weight and dryland facilities and a 25-meter pool.

Last season while still at Scottsdale, Olszewski had 12 swimmers qualify for winter nationals in December. Gold was instrumental in the development of the SAC age group program. The club is slated to begin at full practices on Sept. 1.
