USMS Long Course Nationals: Eight World Records, Four USMS Standards Fall During First Day

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, August 10. THE first day of Masters competition at the United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Long Course National Championships featured eight world records and four other USMS standards.

Susan Walsh, 45, and Laura Val, 56, were the only world-record doubles on the day. Walsh set both the 45-49 100 free with a time of 1:00.16, while also breaking the 45-49 50 back record with a readout of 31.85. Meanwhile, Val touched in 1:02.02 in the 55-59 100 free, while also setting the 55-59 50 back in 33.96.
