Denver Signs Rose Farruggia to Swimming and Diving Team -- May 30, 2007

DENVER, Colorado, May 30. THE University of Denver has signed Rose Farruggia (Cincinnati, Ohio) to a National Letter of Intent to compete in swimming beginning in the fall 2007 season, head coach Brian Schrader announced. Farrugia's signing brings the total to 17 in Schrader's first recruiting class.

Farruggia is a diver from Indian Hill High School who finished sixth at the 2007 Ohio State High School championships. She is a two-time Cincinnati Enquirer Honorable Mention award winner and is a two-time Scholar Athlete winner (3.25 grade point average or higher for the quarter). All three years she competed for IHHS her team finished as the state runners-up. Farruggia is the daughter of Joseph and Mary Jo Farruggia and is coached by Paul Glassman and Lori Rapp.

"Rose will definitely contribute to our depth in diving and I think her ability to compete as an athlete in different sports shows her ability as an athlete," Schrader said. "We are excited for her potential to help us."

Special thanks to Denver for contributing this report.
