BERKELEY, California, May 12. A former UCLA All-American, Kristen Lewis has been hired by Teri McKeever as an assistant coach at California. Lewis has worked in an administrative role at Cal for the past two years. She competed at UCLA from 2000-04 and was a team captain as a senior, registering 100 and 200 butterfly times that rank among the fastest in program history. Lewis was a semifinalist at the 2004 Olympic Trials in the 100 and 200 fly.
"Kristen's career at UCLA is a great example of the kind of athletic and academic success that is important to our program," McKeever said. "She represents someone who really took advantage of her opportunities and made the most of them."
