Verbatim Wording of NCAA Bylaw 13.11.1.2 Interpretation -- May 2, 2007

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, May 2. TO clear up any confusing with the process, the NCAA released the official wording of the Bylaw 13.11.1.2 Interpretation to the media today.

Individual Sport Competition Involving an Institution's Varsity Team and an Outside Team that Includes High School Prospective Student-Athletes (I)

Interpretation: Generate Archive Request

The NCAA Division I Management Council determined that in individual sports, it is permissible for an institution's varsity team and an outside team that includes prospective student-athletes to participate in the same open event, provided the event either involves no team scoring or the event uses team scoring such that the institution's varsity team and the outside team are in separate scoring categories. [Reference: Division I Bylaw 13.11.1.2 (competition against prospects).]
