Arizona Takes Down Second American Record, This Time in 200 Medley Relay

By Jason Marsteller

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 9. ANOTHER relay, another American and NCAA record, this time both Arizona at 1:36.09 and California at 1:36.60 eclipsed the previous record of 1:36.69 set by Auburn in 2003 in the 200 medley relay.

The Arizona Wildcat quartet of Hailey Degolia, Annie Chandler, Lara Jackson and Lindsey Kelly led from wire-to-wire for the AR, while Cal's foursome of Lauren Rogers, Jessica Hardy, Dana Vollmer and Emily Silver tracked down third-place Auburn with a sub-AR time.

The Tiger team of Rachel Goh, Kara Denby, Margo McCawley and Emily Kukors took third in 1:38.06.

Notably, the title is Arizona's first NCAA crown in the 200 medley relay.

Arizona increased its lead with 208 points to Auburn's 187. Stanford sat in third with 153.5 points, while California (132) and Georgia (114) completed the rest of the top five.
