Seppala Sets National Record in 200 Free at Finnish Champs -- March 5, 2007

HELSINKI, Finland, March 5. THE Finnish National Championships were relatively short on quality times, although Hanna-Maria Seppala established a national record in the 200 freestyle. Seppala, better known for her 50 and 100 exploits, registered a time of 2:01.54. Seppala also won the 50 free in 26.11, the 100 in 56.47 and the 400 free in 4:23.33.

Another national record on the female side fell in the 200 breaststroke when Eeva Saarinen produced a time of 2:33.36. For the men, Matti Rajakyla prevailed in the 50 (22.92), 100 (50.19) and 200 (1:52.40) freestyles, along with the 50 fly (24.10).
