Two French Records Go Down in Lyon -- February 27, 2007
LYON, France, February 27. ANNE-Sophie Le Paranthoen set her second national record at the French Cup when she clocked 1:09.57 for the 100-meter breaststroke. Le Paranthoen had previously set a French record in the 50 breast. Meanwhile, Alain Bernard set a national record in the 100 freestyle when his effort of 49.81 dipped under the former standard of 48.97.
In medley action, Hungary's Laszlo Cseh proved he's ready to tangle with Michael Phelps at the World Championships in Melbourne. Cseh took top honors in the 200 I.M. with a time of 1:59.77. On the female side, Katinka Hosszu was the victor in the 400 I.M., thanks to a performance of 4:45.92.
