Beck Shines at College Station Speedo Southern Sectional
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, February 26. OVER the weekend, 16-year-old Spindrift Beck of the Dallas Mustangs shined with four individual titles to lead all-comers at the Speedo Southern Sectional short course yard competition held in College Station, Texas.
Beck started off with a win in the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.51, before capturing the 400 IM title in 4:16.27. She then claimed the 100 breast crown in 1:01.74 before taking the 200 IM in 1:59.66.
Dave Rollins of Tucson Ford led the men's side of the meet with a title trifecta with wins in the 100 breast (53.94), 200 breast (1:59.05) and 200 IM (1:49.10).
Other multiple event winners included 15-year-old Cammile Adams of the Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club in the 500 free (4:48.29) and the 200 fly (1:59.13) for the women, and 16-year-old Tyler Bush of Loveland/Colorado Swimming with wins in the 1000 free (9:18.30) and 1650 free (15:28.23).
Additionally, 16-year-old Matt Thompson of the Dallas Mustangs won the 100 back (48.98) and 200 back (1:47.19), while 17-year-old Neil Caskey of the Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club took home the 200 fly (1:47.56) and 200 free (1:38.89). Camilo Becerra of FAST completed the double-winners with top times in the 100 fly (48.26) and 50 free (19.70).
