Staab Ties Dusing’s High School Record in 100 Butterfly at Ohio State Champs

CANTON, Ohio, February 24. CLOCKING 47.10 in the 100-yard butterfly, Westerville Central's Austin Staab tied a national-scholastic record Friday night as the Ohio State Championships started. Staab equaled the 1997 standard of Nate Dusing, the future Olympian who competed as a high school athlete for Covington Catholic (Ky.). While Staab tied the overall high school record, he broke the public-school standard of 47.13, previously held by Michael Cavic. Staab also went 47.15 in prelims.
