Neethling Preparing for Melbourne Under Busch -- January 25, 2007

TUCSON, Arizona, January 25. RATHER than train in South Africa, his homeland, Ryk Neethling is preparing for the World Championships in Melbourne under Frank Busch. Neethling, of course, enjoyed a sterling career under Busch and Rick deMont at the University of Arizona. Neethling is one of the world's premier 100 and 200 freestylers.

On the Web site of Dirk Lange, the German who is the head coach of the South African National Team, he indicates that he and Neethling had a difference in training philosophies. Unquestionably, Neethling is in a splendid training environment at Arizona as he works on a daily basis with the likes of Roland Schoeman, Simon Burnett and Lyndon Ferns.
