TEXAS WINS 800 FREE RELAY -- March 24, 2000 Texas plays it safe on the last exchange as they head toward winning the 800 Free Relay

Texas won its second relay of the day with a solid victory in the 800 free relay, setting a U.S. Open record of 7:05.05 to break East Germany's 7:13.99 mark from 1985. Senior Jon Younghouse and juniors Nate Dusing, Scot Goldblatt and Jamie Rauch finished over four seconds ahead of second-place Arizona State (7:09.40).
Stanford was third in 7:11.48, Auburn was fourth in 7:11.67, Arizona was fifth in 7:11.78, Minnesota was sixth in 7:12.52, Penn State was seventh in 7:13.87 and Nebraska was eighth in 7:14.49. Texas wins the 800 Free Relay
