The College Schedule: A Look at the Top 10

CRANBURY, New Jersey, January 18. ANOTHER weekend of collegiate action is upon us and we continue to surge toward the postseason and, ultimately, the NCAA Championships in March. Here's a look at the upcoming schedules of the top 10 teams in the country on the male and female sides. The rankings are from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

Women

1. Stanford: The Cardinal notched wins over Arizona and Arizona State last week. This weekend features matchups with UCLA (Friday) and USC (Saturday).

2. Arizona: The Wildcats were bounced by Stanford and California last week. They'll try to rebound against Texas and Southern Methodist this weekend.

3. Auburn: The Tigers will meet Florida Friday in a Southeastern Conference matchup at home.

4. California: The Golden Bears claimed wins over Arizona and Arizona State last week. This week includes clashes with USC and UCLA.

5. Texas A&M: The Aggies have a pair of meets this weekend, meeting Houston on Friday and Louisiana State on Saturday.

6. Georgia: Coming off a win over Texas, the Bulldogs will try to topple Tennessee in Saturday competition.

7. Florida State: Into the seventh slot, the Seminoles are staring at meetings with Indian River C.C. and Auburn next week.

8. Southern Methodist: The Mustangs have a pair of big matchups this weekend against Arizona and Texas.

9. Florida: A busy weekend awaits the Gators, who will meet Auburn in Friday action and Alabama and South Carolina in Saturday competition.

10. Michigan: Holding down the 10th spot in the latest poll, the Wolverines will travel to Northwestern for a Saturday meet.

Men

1. Texas: The Longhorns remained undefeated by topping Auburn and Georgia last week. This weekend brings faceoffs with Arizona and Southern Methodist.

2. Stanford: Coming off decisions of Arizona State and Arizona, the Cardinal will tangle next weekend with USC.

3. Auburn: The Tigers were bettered by Texas last week. This weekend calls for a meeting with Florida.

4. California: The Golden Bears, who took part in last week's Dallas Morning News Invitational, will return to action Jan. 26 against USC.

5. Arizona: Coming off a loss to Stanford, the Wildcats will travel to Texas this weekend for meetings with the University of Texas and Southern Methodist.

6. USC: Next up for the Trojans are matchups with USC and Stanford on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27, respectively.

7. Minnesota: The Golden Gophers will take on Big Ten Conference foes Purdue and Wisconsin this weekend.

8. Northwestern: After winning last week's Dallas Morning News Invitational, the Wildcats will travel to Notre Dame this weekend.

9. Georgia: The Bulldogs were dealt a loss by Texas last week. Next up is a Saturday meeting with Tennessee.

10. Florida State: The Seminoles have this weekend off from competition, but will return to the pool next week for meetings with Indian River C.C. and Auburn.
