Hoff Posts Fast Mid-Season Times at Burgdorff ERA Invite

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey, January 15. THIS past weekend, Katie Hoff continued her strong mid-season run with a great long course meter meet at the Burgdorff ERA Invitational held at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center on the campus of Rutgers University from Jan. 12-14.

Hoff started the meet off right the first night with a 1:58.91 to win the 200 free in a time that is less than a second off her National Age Group record of 1:58.02. She then clocked a 2:11.65 to touch first in the 200 IM that also stood just a second-and-a-half off her NAG of 2:10.05. She finished that hour of swimming with an incredible 1:58.31 anchor as part of North Baltimore's winning 800 freestyle relay.

The following day, she notched a 4:39.91 in a 400 IM win, before winning the 400 free in 4:10.09. She then clocked a 2:33.05 to win the 200 breast title, before hitting the wall in 56-flat to claim the 100 free title.

Hoff's teammate Dan Madwed also had a solid meet. He won the 200 free in 1:52.20, split a 1:52.75 on the anchor leg of the 800 free relay, dropped more than 10 seconds off his previous personal-best time of 4:12 with a 3:56.79 to win the 400 free and won the 200 fly in 1:59.82.
