Health Issues Force Boyle Out of New Zealand World Champs Trials -- December 13, 2006

WEST AUCKLAND, New Zealand, December 13. NEW Zealand's World Championship Trials have been impacted by chemical issues, so severe that the facility used for the competition was closed on Monday. Now, an athlete has been forced to withdrawal from the meet. Citing a bronchial complaint, Lauren Boyle will not compete for the rest of the event.

According to a media report out of New Zealand, Boyle had an allergic reaction to chemicals inhaled. Jan Cameron, New Zealand's National Team Coach, indicated that past performances by Boyle will be analyzed to determine whether she deserves a place on the New Zealand squad for March's World Champs in Melbourne.
