Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Honors Performers of the Week

EDISON, New Jersey, December 6. NIAGARA University's Pat Garvey (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and Fairfield University's Brittany Hunter (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) have been named the MAAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Marist College's Devon O'Nalty (East Hartford, Conn.) and Melissa Mangona (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) have been named the MAAC Men's and Women's Divers of the Week, respectively.

Garvey, a junior, won two of his four individual events at the Loyola H2ounds Invitational. The junior swam a season beast in the 200 yard individual medley (1:58.78). He also won the 100 yard butterfly (52.79) and finished fifth in the 100 yard freestyle (48.04) with another season best. Garvey currently ranks 2nd in the 200 yard IM and 3rd in the 100 yard free in the MAAC.

Hunter, a senior, continued to excel for the Stags. Against Iona, Hunter was a triple winner, earning crucial first place points in a very close meet keeping the Stags within striking distance. She began the day by capturing the 1500 meter freestyle (18:10.49) and followed that with a victory in the 200 meter IM (2:29.38). She closed out the day with a win in the 400 meter freestyle (4:41.74). At the Harold Anderson Invitational, Hunter notched a fourth place finish in the 200 yard butterfly (2:14.62). Her converted times put Hunter as 3rd in the 1650 yard free and 200 yard IM in the MAAC. Her actual time in the 200 yard fly ranks her 4th in the MAAC.

O'Nalty, a junior, was Marist's top finisher in both diving events over the course of the two day H2ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola College. O'Nalty won the 1-meter event (265.35) and finished second of the 3-meter board (438.00).

Mangona, a junior, posted wins in both diving events for the Red Foxes at the H2ounds Invitational this past weekend. She won the 1-meter (226.45) , before taking the top spot off the 3-meter board (424.30).
