UALR Finishes Christmas Invite

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, December 2. TWO UALR school swimming records were broken as the Trojans hosted the final day of the UALR Christmas Invitational Saturday. The Trojans finished sixth in the women's competition with 198 points.

The 200 medley relay team of Shannon Murphy, Brenda Gannon, Danielle Horack, and Emily Adams placed fifth and set the school record with a time of 1:54.94.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Murphy placed fifth in the finals and set the school record with a time of 1:00.86. She also placed sixth in the 200 yard individual medley finals with a time of 2:17.89.

Adams placed 11th in the finals of the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.51.

Brenda Gannon recorded a time of 18:22.07 in the 1,650 yard freestyle for a seventh place finish.

Danielle Horack placed 10th in the finals of the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:17.27 and 15th in the finals of the 200 yard freestyle recording a time of 2:05.61.

In preliminary competition, Chelsea Churchill placed 19th with a time of 2:14.63 in the 200 yard freestyle.

Personal bests were recorded in preliminary competition as Kelly LaMoncia recorded a time of 1:01.26 in the 100 yard freestyle, and Gabrielle Edwards recorded a time of 1:11.76 also in the 100 yard freestyle.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Adams, Churchill, Horack, and Murphy placed sixth in 1:45.99, while the team of Murphy, Adams, Gannon, and Horack placed fifth in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
