Pacific Sweeps Big West Athlete of the Week Honors
IRVINE, California, October 24. AFTER posting impressive times at the Pacific TYR Invitational last weekend, Tigers Krzysztof Zoldak and Ja-Neil Bragg were named Big West Athletes of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 23.
Zoldak placed first in both the 200 and 400 IM, while posting a second-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:51.11. In addition to his individual events, the Oswiecim, Poland, native was a member of the 200 free relay that placed fifth (1:26.52) and the 200 medley relay which posted the third-fastest time of 1:34.31. He also joined forces for the 400 and 800 free relay, finishing fourth in both events with times of 3:10.30 and 6:56.91.
Bragg claimed the top prize in both the 200 and 400 IM with times of 2:02.85 and 4:18.41. At the Tigers' home event, the Manteca, Calif., native swam the second-fastest time in the 100 and 200 free. Along with her impressive performances in the individual events, she participated in three freestyle relays that each earned third place. In the 200 relay the Tigers registered a time of 1:38.53, while finishing with a time of 3:34.42 and 7:40.94 in the 400 and 800 free relays.
