PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, October 23. OVER the weekend, distance sensation Kate Ziegler set a national age group record in the 3,000 freestyle at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, Pa.
This year's Swimming World Magazine Female High School Swimmer of the Year, Ziegler stopped the clock in 29 minutes, 37.89 seconds to eclipse the standard on Saturday. The performance broke the time of 30:48.44 previously held by Stacy Shupe of California.
