Missouri State Sweeps Truman, 162-132 Women/176-103 Men

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri, October 21. THE Missouri State swimming and diving teams picked up a pair of wins over Truman State Saturday at Hammons Student Center. The MSU women out-scored the Truman State women who have been the NCAA-II champions for the last six years, 162-132. The Bears' men's team swept all 16 events and dominated over the Bulldogs 176-103.

The women's 200 medley relay has been unbeatable this season as they finished first for the third consecutive meet. Allison

Zeller, Kyla Meuer, Fran Moody and Jordan Hawkins teamed up for a time of 1:47.87.

Freshman Matana Wellman scored her first collegiate win in the 200 freestyle, winning the race in a time of 1:54.71 Fellow freshman Fran Moody had an outstanding showing in the 100 breaststroke, finishing first in 1:06.96. Moody was also the 200 IM champion with a time of 2:11.54. Breanna Hollar picked up her first career win in the 200 fly, touching the wall at 2:12.73.

MSU sophomore Jordan Hawkins claimed gold in the 50 and 100 freestyle, stopping the clock at 24.53 and 53.21, respectively.

Junior Andi Rojas placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 58.30.

Newcomers Chelsea Ray and Sara Griffith led the MSU diving team as Ray placed first on the one-meter board (203.93) and Griffith won three-meter competition with a score of 212.85.

The Missouri State men won all 16 events on their side of the meet. Sophomore Eduardo Pajares picked up four wins in the competition. He guided the 200 medley relay to gold with a time of 1:34.55, then won the 100 and 200 backstroke in 52.52 and 1:54.39, respectively. He ended the meet swimming the second leg of the first-place 400 freestyle relay that finished in 3:10.71.
