BEST Hires Rytel as Assistant Coach
PHOENIX, Arizona, October 19. BROPHY College Preparatory School and the Brophy East Swim Team (BEST) announced the hiring of Kevin Rytel as its new full-time assistant coach on Wednesday.
"BEST is very fortunate to be getting a highly qualified, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic coach the likes of Coach Rytel," head coach Dave Gibson said. "Kevin is very respected as a stroke technician and creative tough trainer. Coach Rytel is a rising star in the USA Swimming coaching community."
Most recently, Rytel has been an assistant coach at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club in Charlotte, N.C., where he coached upper level age group swimmers and also coached a a pair of swimmers to the 2006 Junior Nationals.
Prior to coaching in N.C., Rytel served as the head age group coach at the Firestone Akron Swim Team in Ohio. He also coached with the Shaker Sharks in Ohio and coached at the Stanford Swim Camps in Calif.
Rytel earned Lake Erie Age Group Coach of the Year honors in 2004 as well as multiple Lake Erie Zone Coach & Quad Coach laurels. He also served on the Lake Erie Swimming Board.
