Wilson to do Double Duty at Dartmouth

HANOVER, New Hampshire, September 6. JIM Wilson, who is entering his 14th year as head coach of men's swimming at Dartmouth, will also take over the leadership of the Big Green women's swim program, according to an announcement by Director of Athletics Josie Harper.

Wilson's new title is head coach of men's and women's swimming, a structure common to swim programs nationally.

"We're excited that Jim's expertise and energy will extend to both swimming programs, as we venture into an era of joint leadership," said Harper.

Wilson joined the Dartmouth staff in 1993, after coaching at Utah as both an assistant and head coach from 1977-93. A 1977 graduate of Utah, he was an All-America swimmer as a collegian.

During his tenure with the Big Green, the Dartmouth men have rewritten the record books with school records in 17 of 21 events. He also coached the men's and women's club water polo teams, earning national coach of the year for women's water polo in 2004.
