KINGS POINT, N.Y., Aug. 16. MELISSA Chamberlin was added to the swimming and diving team at the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday.
Chamberlin comes to the Mariners from the University of Chicago where she served as a graduate assistant coach. While coaching at Chicago, Chamberlin helped develop the training program and improve methods of technique evaluation. Prior to Chicago, Chamberlin acted as a volunteer assistant at the University of Utah, where she worked with provisional NCAA and USA Swimming National qualifiers.
An alumna of Utah, Chamberlin was a four-year letter winner, a four-year member of the Academic All-Conference team, and team captain as a senior.
Additionally, Chamberlin worked as a swim coach at Fairmont Aquatic Center in Salt Lake City where she coached age group, high school, summer league and Masters swim teams.
