US Olympic Trials Wave I: Day Two Finals Heat Sheets

The second night of finals at the 2021 US Olympic Trials Wave I will kick off at 8 p.m. EST from Omaha, Nebraska as the finals of the 200 free, 100 breast and 400 IM will be contested. The top two swimmers in each event will advance to swim at the Wave II meet June 13 – 20 where the official Olympic team will be selected for the Tokyo Games that will start seven weeks from today.

Nebraska’s Autumn Haebig is the top seed in the 200 freestyle as she will look to pick up another event for Wave II after winning the 100 back last night. At 22-years-old she is the oldest top seed across the six events tonight, while 21-year-old Joelle Vereb of Virginia Tech is leading the women’s 100 breast field.

A pair of 16-year-olds is leading the 400 IM with Katie McCarthy leading the women’s race and Mission Viejo’s Humberto Nareja leading the men’s.

19-year-olds Reid Mikuta (Auburn) and Will Jackson (Tennessee) out of the SEC are leading the finals in the 100 breast and 200 freestyle respectively.

Finals will begin at 7:00 p.m. CST in Omaha and will be live on Olympic Channel and NBCOlympics.com.
