Last season, Texas head coach Eddie Reese won his 12th men’s swimming and diving team championship, breaking a tie with Ohio State’s Mike Peppe for the most all-time. This season, Reese goes for No. 13, which would pass Richard Quick for the most overall team championships (women’s and men’s combined) of any college coach.

Much has changed for the Longhorns since last season—Reese’s longtime assistant Kris Kubik has retired, and Wyatt Collins has stepped into those shoes—but Texas’ core that has dominated the past two NCAA championship meets has returned in-tact.

Olympic gold medalists Joseph SchoolingTownley HaasJack Conger and Clark Smith lead the Longhorns into battle along with four-time individual NCAA champion Will Licon. Challenges will come from Cal, NC State, Florida and others, but Swimming World predicts that Texas will again emerge victorious.
