This is the Swim Poll of the Week for Thursday, May 12, 2022, sponsored by Strechcordz Swim Training Products. In our last poll, we wanted to know: How Many Gold Medals Will Caeleb Dressel Win At Worlds?

Caeleb Dressel had an incredible showing at U.S. Team Trials last month in Greensboro, N.C.

Dressel started trials with a win in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall .25 seconds ahead of runner-up Brooks Curry. Dressel continued to impress on day two in the 50 butterfly, claiming his second win at the meet.

Moving forward to the 100 butterfly, Dressel nearly broke the 50 mark in prelims finishing 50.01. He went on to win the title later in the evening but added .19 to his final swim time. Dressel left team trials with his fourth victory in the 50 freestyle, .16 ahead of Michael Andrew. He also set a new U.S. Open record with that 50 free time of 21.29. Of the four golds Dressel walked away with, he also holds the world record in the 100 butterfly.

Dressel coming off an incredible performance is also keeping things in perspective when it comes to racing. He’s opened up about his struggles with panic attacks and how he has fallen short of goals he’s set for himself. Between his training regimen and openness about his struggles, Dressel comes off as having a clear mindset for Worlds. Whether he wins one medal or four, all of his races will be ones to watch.
