Aquatics Coordinator

Key Roles:
The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the development and management of all aquatics programs at Seoul Foreign School.

Key Responsibilities:
● Assist Director of Sport with co-ordination of PE curricular swim program in all divisions
● Assist Director of Sport with projects as needed
● Supervise and coordinate all extra-curricular aquatic activities
● Prepare pool calendar for curricular and extra-curricular activities
● Train, in-service, hire, schedule, supervise and evaluate Lifeguards
● Train, in-service, supervise and evaluate Aquatic Instructors and provide professional development where necessary
● Provide in-service training related to aquatics for PE teachers involved with aquatic instruction
● Report maintenance, security, general cleanliness and safety issues related to the aquatics facility to the GA Staff.
● Work with Aquatics Instructors and GA to set up and take down before and after swim meets
● Supervise use of Meet Manager software for setting up and running home swim meets
● Be the Head Coach for the Morning Team Training group and the boys and girls High School Swim Teams
● Prepare the annual aquatics department budget and monitor income and expenses regularly throughout the year to ensure that the aquatics department stays within budget
● Maintain communication with parents through eNews and other channels
● Perform other duties as needed

Key Requirements:
● Excellent interpersonal skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude
● Strong written and oral communication skills in English
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Flexibility in working with different personalities
● Excellent critical thinking and an ability to learn on the go
● Innovative, self-motivated, energetic, creative problem solver
● Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification or Equivalent
● ASCA Level 2 or higher or Bronze License or higher coaching Certification or Equivalent
● Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI), CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
● Current Teaching Certificate with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience
● Minimum of three years of experience working as a swimming coach
● Good understanding of stroke technique and swimming skills and experience in both Learn to Swim and Coaching Age group swimming
● Computer knowledge and skills using Google Docs, Hy-Tek’s Meet Manager, and Team Manager Swim Software an advantage

Key Reports:
● The Aquatics Coordinator reports to and is annually appraised by the Director of Sport in conjunction with the Assistant Head of School – Academics.
