Rachael Kelly, Danas Rapsys Down Meet Records at 2016 Speedo Flanders Cup

A pair of meet marks took a tumble on day two of the 2016 Speedo Flanders Cup as Rachael Kelly and Danas Rapsys both put up strong swims.

Rachael Kelly set the meet record in the women’s 100-meter fly with a 57.74, just off her 11th-ranked 57.71 from last year’s British Championships.  She lowered the previous record of 57.90 by Inge Dekker back in 2007.

Kristel Vourna finished second in 58.99 with Emilie Beckmann taking third in 59.82.

Danas Rapsys crushed his meet record in the men’s 200-meter back with a time of 1:56.72. That swim smashed his 1:58.04 set last year, and would have ranked him 14th in the world last year. Lander Hendrickx (2:01.91) and Nils Van Audekerke (2:02.13) rounded out the podium.

Fran Halsall captured the women’s 50-meter free in 24.78.  Kim Busch (25.26) and Tamara van Vliet (25.50) rounded out the top three.

Magnus Jakupsson took home the men’s 50-meter back in 25.44 with Jonatan Kopelev placing second in 25.58.  Liam Tancock finished third in 25.64.

Imogen Clark won the women’s 50-meter breast in 31.10. Katie Matts (32.41) and Ana Rodrigues (32.69) comprised the rest of the podium.

Georgina Boyle topped the women’s 200-meter free in 2:00.63, while Rebecca Turner tied Eleanor Faulkner for second with matching 2:00.83s.

Deividas Margevicius claimed the men’s 50-meter fly in 24.25.  Adam Barrett took second in 24.36 with Dries Vangoetsenhoven earning third in 24.92.

Katie Matts led a Great Britain 1-2-3 in the women’s 200-meter breast with a 2:27.78.  Georgia Coates (2:30.93) and Emma Cain (2:31.76) placed second and third.

Vlad Mustafin won the men’s 100-meter breast in a time of 1:00.64.  Andrius Sidlauskas (1:01.49) and Charlie Attwood (1:01.83) hit the wall second and third.

Ranohon Amanova clinched the women’s 200-meter IM title in 2:12.53 with Aimee Willmott placing a second behind with a 2:13.53.  Wendy Van der Zanden placed third in 2:14.97.

Jasper Aerents won the men’s 100-meter free in 49.21. Glenn Surgeloose finished second in 49.63 with Emmanuel Vanluchene winding up third in 50.01.

Holly Hibbott topped the women’s 400-meter free in 4:13.53.  Eleanor Faulkner took second in 4:13.88 with Aimee Willmott finishing third in with a 4:15.20.

Joao Vital touched out Tristan Slater, 4:25.52 to 4:25.94, for the men’s 400-meter IM title.  Aleksey Derlyugov took third in 4:25.96.

Georgia Davies captured the women’s 100-meter back in 1:01.06.  Lauren Quigley placed second in 1:01.89 with Anna Maine taking third in 1:02.27.

Louis Croenen turned in a 1:58.82 to win the men’s 200-meter fly.  Stefanos Dimitriadis (1:59.20) and Miguel Nascimento (2:00.39) placed second and third.
