Michael Andrew smacked down Carsten Vissering’s 100-yard breast 15-16 U.S. National Age Group mark with a 52.50 during prelims of the 2015 USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals West as part of a two-NAG effort that included the 100-yard fly.
His 100 breast swim beat Vissering’s mark of 52.83 set back in 2014.
Andrew split the race 24.56, 52.50 (27.94).
Vissering won the 100 breast with a ridiculously fast 52.83 at the 2014 NCSA Junior Nationals, a new 15-16 NAG and the title of being the first swimmer in his age group to break the 53 second mark in the event. The NAG was previously held by Andrew Seliskar at a 53.26, set at last year’s NCSA Junior National Championships.
