Prigoda Earns European Record in 100m Breaststroke Semi-Final

Russia’s Kirill Progoda swam to a semi-final victory with a 56.02 which dipped under the previous record 56.16, set by his countryman Oleg Kostin earlier this year. Great Britain’s Adam Peaty turned in a 56.24 from heat one in the semi-finals while Dutchman Arno Kamminga earned the third spot from heat two in 56.60. Taking the final spot in tomorrow’s final was Nicolo’ Martinenghi, whose time of 57.60 just dips under the World Junior and European Junior record.
