This week’s installment of “Outside the Lines: A Swimmer’s Life” examines the importance of a mentor in the sport of swimming. Whether an athlete relies on a coach, teammate, parent or sibling, it can be helpful to have someone to rely on during difficult moments. Sometimes, a mentor will provide advice, while in some instances, his/her mere presence is enough.
