Neil Walker Qualifies First in 100 Free Prelims

Neil Walker, 24 and swimming for Texas Aquatics, qualified first in a blazing 48.75; he was ahead of world record pace at the 50 with a 23.06.
Gary Hall Jr. qualified second in 49.10, Scott Tucker was third in 49.34, Jason Lezak fourth in 49.60, 200 free champion Josh Davis was fifth in 49.67, Anthony Ervin sixth in 49.75, Sabir Muhammad seventh in 49.96 and Matt Macedo eighth in 49.99.
Rounding out the fast semi-final are Greg Busse (50.04), Jamie Rauch (50.06), Jon Olsen (50.10), Nate Dusing (50.18), Nathan Summers (50.26), Ian Crocker (50.37), John Stratman (50.43) and Bryan Jones (50.45).

Neil Walker finishes nearly a body length ahead in 48.75.
