Daryl Neubieser, Emma Waddell Win Multiple Sprints as MIT Men, Williams Women Win Duals

Women’s Meet:

The fourth ranked Eph women posted a dominant win over the ninth ranked Engineers, finishing with a score of 217 to 82.

The Purple Cows claimed all but one event in the afternoon. They got off to a quick start, taking the top two spots in the 400 medley relay. The team of Olivia Jackson, Brenna Nguten, Emma Waddell, and Faye Sultan stopped the clock in 3:54.82.

Junior Megan Pierce was once again dominant for Williams, winning the 1650 (17:14.23), the 500 freestyle (5:06.74) and completing the endurance trifecta with a 4:28.05 in the 400 IM.

Waddell claimed the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:55.58 and the 100 in a 53.11.

Backstroke standout Katherine Bennett claimed the 100 backstroke in a quick 57.47. In the 200, she stopped the clock in a 2:02.68.

Nguyen was the first finisher in both breaststroke events, claiming the 100 in a time of 1:06.46 and the 200 in 2:24.99.

Paige Haller topped the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:09.64. The 100 butterfly went to her teammate Maia Hare (58.30).

Eph diver Ari Ross swept the boards with scored of 281.17 and 310.80 on the one and three meter.

MIT’s one win of the day went to Amanda Wu in the 50 freestyle (24.45).

Williams finished the meet as the team of Hare, Nguyen, Dana Chung, and Waddell swam a 1:38.10 in the 200 freestyle relay.

Men’s Meet:

The number four MIT men were impressive, topping the tenth ranked Williams men by a score of 218.5 to 75.5

Williams claimed one event in the meet as Timothy Kostolansky touched first in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:52.76.

The Engineers’ team of Alex Lednev, Justin Chiu, Sean Corcoran, and Daryl Neubieser raced to a 3:24.41 in the 400 medley relay.

MIT’s Josh Graves won the 1650 (16:18.33) and later the 500 (4:42.97). Daniel Smith touched in 1:43.28 to win the 200 freestyle.

After taking part in the relay win, Lednev claimed the 100 backstroke (51.28).

Teammate Gavin Brown lead a sweep of the 200 butterfly, finishing in a time of 1:54.02. He went on to win the 400 IM (4:08.68). The 100 butterfly went to Corcoran (50.65).

Neubieser sprinted to wins in the 50 (21.21) and the 100 (47.06) freestyles.

Brandon McKenzie won the 200 breastroke, finishing with a time of 2:07.28.

The team of Neubieser, Jeremy Bogle, Josh Tomazin, and Dane Ericsson stopped the clock at 1:24.53 in the 200 freestlye relay.

The Engineer’s Jeremy Sands was just as impressive on the boards, scoring 266.10 points on one meter and 286.80 on three meter.
