Joshua Zuchowski Topples 11-12 200 Back NAG Record
Joshua Zuchowski (12) of Flood Aquatics Team downed a National Age Group (NAG) record while swimming at the 2017 NASA Dolfin Elite Showcase Classic in Clearwater, FL.
Zuchowski splashed past his prelims time of 2:00.89 to end the meet with a dominant 1:52.47 in the 11-12 boys 200 back, more than seven seconds ahead of the competition. The previous record was held by Rose Bowl’s Ronald Dalmacio at a 1:52.90 from 2016.
Comparable Splits:
- Zuchowski (2017): 26.59/29.08/29.53/27.27 – 1:52.47
- Dalmacio (2016): 27.20/29.26/28.68/28.19 – 1:53.33
- Lu (2016): 26.90/28.67/29.15/28.64 – 1:53.36

As an 11-year-old he was ranked sixth all-time in the 11-12 age group, but now he has blasted to the top of the 11-12 list. The 200 back stands as an event that athletes have continually been chipping away at as the record has now been reset five times since 2014.
