Dutch Record For Kira Toussaint As Arno Kamminga Joins Her On Euro S/C Roster
Dutch Record For Kira Toussaint in 100m Back
On a sparkling 55.74, Kira Toussaint broke her own Dutch 100m backstroke record (55.99) at the Martinez Cup in the Amsterdam Sloterparkbad today.
The time was good for the season world No1 ranking ahead of the 56.24 clocked by Olivia Smoliga, the American World 50m champion, at the Naples round of the International Swim League last weekend.
The 25-year-old, who clocked 24.22 in the 50m freestyle, was easily speedy enough to collect another ticket to the European short-course championships in early December in Glasgow.
Earlier this month, Toussaint set the Dutch 50m long-course record at 27.49 during the Berlin round of the World Cup.
Arno Kamminga, who on World Cup Tour this month set Dutch long-course records over 50, 100 and 200m breaststroke, clocked 2.02.56 in the 200m in Amsterdam, today, the time also well inside the selection standard for Glasgow and just 0.01sec shy of his own Dutch record established at the 2017 European s/c showcase.
