Male Swimmer of the Week
Caeleb Dressel, Florida
Dressel finished first in every race against both no. 19 FSU and FAU to start off 2018. Against Florida State, he placed first in the 50 free and 100 free and was a part of the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays. Against Florida Atlantic, he touched the wall first in the 200 fly and was a part of the winning 200 medley relay. Dressel recorded four B-cut times (50 free, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 medley relay) on the weekend.
Male Diver of the Week
Colin Zeng, Tennessee
Zeng won two of three events at the Tennessee Diving Invitational. He took first in the one-meter (391.15) and platform (432.30) and second in the three-meter (403.85). He is undefeated on the one-meter and platform this season, with 5 wins on one-meter, 2 wins on platform. Zeng has scored above 400 five times this season on three-meter.
Male Freshman of the Week
Hugo Gonzalez, Auburn
At No. 2 Texas, Gonzalez won all three individual events he was entered in against the Longhorns. He swept the backstroke events, tying for top honors in the 100 in 47.85 and winning the 200 outright in 1:42.98. It was the second time Gonzalez has swept the backstroke events this season. He won the 400 IM in 3:48.02, marking the fourth time this season he has won the event. Gonzalez has now been a three-event winner three times this season.
Co-Female Swimmer of the Week
Sherridon Dressel, Florida
Dressel finished first in five different events over the weekend, including a team-best four wins against Florida State. She claimed first place in the 50 free (23.18) and 100 free (50.16) while also being a part of the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays vs. the Seminoles. Against FAU, Dressel was a part of the first-place 200 medley relay.
Asia Seidt, Kentucky
Seidt won all four of her individual events, plus helped Kentucky’s 400 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish in the UK Tri-Meet against No. 13 Ohio State and Toledo. She was the only female swimmer in the meet to have four individual victories, with all four of wins reaching NCAA ‘B’ standard times. In the 200 IM, Seidt touched the wall in 1:58.34. She also won the 100 backstroke in 53.34, going undefeated in the event this season.
Female Diver of the Week
Brooke Schultz, Arkansas
Schultz won the three-meter springboard title on Jan. 4 at the Tennessee Diving Invitational, scoring a school record 383.40 to capture the crown. She was the only diver to finish in the top two of the one-meter and 3-meter dives at the Invite, after recording a second-place finish in the one-meter finals on Jan. 3 with a score of 325.70.
Female Freshman of the Week
Jing Quah, Texas A&M
In Texas A&M’s win over Missouri, Quah swept the butterfly events with a pair of B-cut times. She took first in the 100 fly with a time of 54.05, and earned a first-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:57.98. Quah was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
