Carmel Swim Club Takes Down Another NAG (13-14) Record; This Time in 400 Free Relay
One night after it set a National Age Group record in the 13-14 classification of the 400-yard medley relay, the Carmel Swim Club was back at it on Sunday night. Racing in a time trial, Carmel took down the 13-14 NAG standard in the 400 freestyle relay, as it was clocked in 3:08.77.
As was the case in the medley relay, where he handled the backstroke leg, Carter Lancaster got Carmel off to a superb start. Lancaster opened with a split of 45.68 and was followed by Lewis Zhang’s split of 47.74. The third leg was handled by Emile Haig, who covered his 100 yards in 47.78. On the anchor leg was Gregg Enoch, who closed out the relay with a split of 47.57. Haig and Enoch were also on the record-breaking medley relay. The former NAG record belonged to Irvine Novaquatics, which set the standard of 3:09.70 in 2015.
The previous night, Carmel’s record in the 400 medley relay arrived in 3:24.49.
