The Brno Grand Prix in the Czech Republic had plenty of fireworks for a meet not on everyone’s radar in Europe.

Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu competed in the meet and raced all 16 events throughout the weekend, winning a stunning 13 of those races.

Meanwhile, Anika Apostalon, an American who began swimming for the Czech Republic this year, had a stellar meet, breaking two Czech national records.

Apostalon won the 50 free in 24.09 and the 100 free in 52.64, breaking national records set by Barbora Seemanova (2017) and Jana Myskova (2003). Her times qualified her for the short-course world championships.

One other record fell during the weekend as Jan Micka broke his own mark in the 1500 free, winning in 14:34.65.
