4 Perfect Gifts For Your Swimmer This Holiday Season
4 Perfect Gifts For Your Swimmer This Holiday Season
The holiday season is right around the corner. For loved ones who want to make the swimmers in their lives happy, here’s a list of a few gift ideas to help make your swimmer happy.
A New Swim Bag
Swimmers always need a roomy bag to carry sets of clothes, swim caps and goggles, multiple swimsuits, and other miscellaneous items to and from the pool. Next time you’re with your swimmer, see if you can catch a glimpse of what they wear on their back. Take note of whether it’s a backpack or an over-the-shoulder, the color, and whether or not it has any team monograms or customization. Consider these personal preferences and look to find the best type of bag that’s a combination of function and personal choice, and then wow your swimmer with both your observation skills and your ability to please.
Practice Suits
It’s a classic and may seem like a thoughtless gesture, but the effort that goes into picking the right ones and ensuring that they are what your swimmers are looking for will be known. First, there’s the question of style. Does your swimmer prefer open back or closed back? What about briefs or jammers? Then, there are brands. Jolyn, Speedo, FINIS, Dolfin Uglies are just a few of the ones out there that a swimmer may prefer. On top of that, a swimmer can never have too many swimsuits as they tend to break down quickly from chlorine exposure and constant wear and tear. A practice suit for your swimmer would be a special and useful gift.
Monogrammed Towel
Swimmers tend to share close quarters. Sometimes locker rooms at away meets are tight, or bleacher space is tight, and gear inevitably overlaps. Things like clothes and shoes are easily identifiable, but sometimes towels can get lost in the crossfire. Numerous towels get left behind at every meet. To ensure your swimmer doesn’t keep losing towels, a wise investment could be a nice towel with their initials or name monogrammed on them. It would be a functional gift that would motivate your swimmer to keep track of their towel for two reasons – one it would be a nice towel, and two it would be a gift. Each of these two would serve to help build a new habit and give a swimmer a nice towel in the process.
Parka
Holiday season means colder weather and it also means great deals. This is the perfect duet to purchase a potentially costly gift for a swimmer, especially those who live in locations where the weather gets cold. Parkas are great investments for both on-deck at meets and championships and for cold-weather wear when you want to show some team pride, and you can save money on them in the holiday season. Plus, most swimmers want a parka even if they don’t admit it. In terms of color and style, looking at preference of brand and team coloring in swimmer’s other gear is always a good way to go.
These are just a few options for some gifts a swimmer may want. If these don’t sound like useful items for the swimmer you’re attempting to buy a gift for, don’t be afraid to ask for other things on their list. The holiday season is about reminding people they are cared for and loved, and the fact that you are supporting them in their dream and passion of swimming is a gift in itself.
