2019 TYR Pro Swim Series Bloomington Finals Night 3 RACE VIDEOS and Recap
Despite a climactic Night Two, the athletes at the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Bloomington were not ready to peak. Bringing the heat in prelims, some of the U.S.’s marquee performers were prepared to turn heads when it counted. Their impressive mornings swims were things of the past, as world-class athletes like Katie Ledecky, Zane Grothe, Michael Andrew, and Ella Eastin set their sights on something bigger in Bloomington, IN. Early in the long-course season, the swimmers relied on the fuel of raw competition, but the times followed, prompting rumblings in the swim community.

In true form, Katie Ledecky made another grueling race look easy, as she surged to a 1:55.80 finish in the women’s 200 free at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Bloomington. Pulling away from the pack shortly after the breakout, Ledecky seemed to lose no steam, finishing over a second earlier than her training partner, Simone Manuel (1:57.24).
Madisyn Cox continued to impress with a best time to start the night, touching in at 1:58.52 to cinch third. Gaining a healthy lead over Allison Schmitt (1:59.17), Cox has been a dangerous contender all meet, showcasing her skills in a variety of events. Last night’s 200 fly champion, Katie Drabot, managed to break into the top five with a time of 1:59.18, crashing the pads just before Gabby DeLoof (1:59.79). Brooke Forde and Cierra Runge rounded out the loaded heat with times of 1:59.97 and 2:00.80, respectively.
