(Race Video) 1:37.97!! Joseph Schooling Breaks 1:38 Barrier in 200 Fly For NCAA Record

Texas’ Joseph Schooling broke through not only the 1:39 barrier but also the 1:38 with a sizzling 1:37.97 to win the men’s 200-yard fly with an NCAA record in the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.

Additionally, Texas’ Jack Conger broke his own American record with a 1:38.06 for second.

Coming into tonight, Dylan Bosch owned the NCAA record with a 1:39.33 from 2014, while Conger held the American mark of 1:39.31 with a time trial last year.

Tonight’s heat proved to be the fastest of all time, as four swimmers are now among the top 10 all time.  Schooling and Conger moved to first and second, while California’s Andrew Seliskar (1:39.95) and Georgia’s Pace Clark (1:40.17) vaulted to sixth and seventh all time as they took third and fourth tonight.
