Noè Ponti Goes Third In 200 Fly Rankings In 1:54.59 After Completing Treble At Swiss Championships

Noè Ponti went third in the 200 fly rankings after going 1:54.59 to complete the treble at the Swiss Championships in Uster.

Out in 25.14, Ponti split 29.13/29.83 in the middle half of the race before coming home in the third-fastest effort of his career behind his 1:54.20 and 1:54.29 at the 2022 World Championships in Budapest.

That elevates the 2022 European silver medallist to third in 2024 behind Japanese duo Tomoru Honda (1:53.88) and Genki Terakado (1:54.07).

It concludes a superb meet for Ponti who went within 0.71 of Caeleb Dressel’s 100 fly WR in 50.16 to go sixth all-time.

That followed his 22.65 blast over 50m which also elevated him to sixth best performer in history.

Fanny Borer won the women’s 2 fly in 2:15.80.

Nina Kost won the 50 free and 100 back double in 25.19 and 1:01.04 respectively while Roman Mityukov won the men’s 100 back in 53.58.

Antonio Djakovic, already with his trip to paris 2024 sealed, won the 400 free in 3:54.68 while Leo Verschooten took the 50 free in 22.86.
