All Navy Sports Outside of Navy-Air Force Football Game Canceled Through Sunday

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland, October 3. NAVY has announced that all varsity and club sports — including swimming – other than the Navy and Air Force football game on Saturday, have been canceled through Sunday due to the Unites States government shutdown.

That means that the Navy swim meet against George Mason and Loyola Maryland that had been scheduled for tonight, and was rumored to have been rescheduled until Saturday, has been canceled at this time.

The Department of Defense has cancelled all Naval Academy varsity and club sports through Sunday as a result of the government shutdown.

Navy and Air Force have received approval from the Department of Defense to play Saturday’s football game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11:40 a.m. and the game will be televised nationally by CBS.
